Born in Kolkata, and brought up across various cities in India (thanks to her Dad’s transferable job), she is the eldest of two much pampered daughters. After graduating in Computer Engineering, she first worked for an IT Company in New Delhi for a couple of years. Then she moved to US to pursue her Masters, and is currently working for Oracle Inc. in their Denver office.
Well, other than the countless lovey-dovey things that I may say as a couple, as a friend what I admire the most in her – is her ability to find joy in small little things in life. She hardly gets distracted when things take a detour from her plans in life – and accepts life as it is - goes along with the flow – and finds happiness in the present moment. She taught me that – one can be passionate about ones dreams, yet not get obsessed about it, and stay content in life, irrespective of the outcomes of ones endeavours.
And of course, I like the fact that I can always be myself with her – no holds barred. I do not have to think of what kind of adulterated language I am using (read typical guys’ foul lingo) –or how many hot girls I am looking at when I am with her. She is chilled out just like any of my guy friends.
It has to be her sudden bouts of stubbornness – when all my logic fails – and all that cajoling loses its magic. But then, the best part of courting your childhood friend is that you fairly understand the science of their mind, know how to handle them in their worst, and still love them. Now whenever she picks up a fight over some impulsive disagreement, all I do is patiently wait out for that moment to pass-by, and when her anger settles, and she is back to her logical self, convincing her just takes a well-presented set of facts and logic. In short, I wouldn’t like to change anything in her.
